Nevern Castle

Ancient castle digs

In 2008 Nevern Village Community, The National Park & CADW started the digs of one of the oldest castles in the United Kingdom. In 2011 Genii's job was to create an experience that would easily guide tourists & visitors of Nevern Village (Wales, UK) through this historical site.

The main goal of this web-site was to give information about this sight & show it in a very interesting & attractive way. Genii were given a few hand drawn illustrations, dig photos 7 & some historical review.

For attracting more customers, in the process of developing the concept there was made a decision of making this web-site as interactive as possible. So according to this we developed 3D models of 3 different periods of Castle's life (11th century – wooden castle / 12th century – stone castle / today – current digs). One of the most interactive pages is the page with these 3D models, where customers can have a look on the Castle models from different angles & switch between the time periods. There are also several hot-spots on these models which give a customer an ability of reading text descriptions, looking throught photo gallery & listening to audio guides of these location points.

The result of Genii's work is the nice-looking, “warm” & user-friendly site which gives an opportunity to explore this fascinating historical site & vizualize it.
